So we've lived in our first house for the last three years, and it's a fairly decent 1,400 sq. ft., but with Nrrd Boy getting bigger, and it only having one bathroom, it's quickly feeling a bit too small.
We found a home being sold four streets down that twice the square footage, and absolutely gorgeous and to die for. We've been looking for a home we'd be happy in for the next 10-15 years, and this one is totally it.
So now begins the headache.
We're tentatively approved for a home equity loan to make some changes to our current home, such as egress windows and finishing the bathroom in the basement, plus refinishing the hardwood floors, etc. We spent this weekend doing smaller stuff and spreading $50 or red bark all over the landscaping and planting new trees/flowers. Curb appeal, baby!
And we just got pre-approved for the loan for the new house, so all we need is to buy the new home, get our home finished, sell the old home and move into the new one.
I get the feeling I'll be drinking quite a bit for the next few months. When I'm not packing and moving boxes, of course.
